Catching Your Vision

06 Jan Catching Your Vision

CATCHING YOUR VISION –

Jeremiah 2:31
“Oh generation, SEE the word of the Lord…”

You have heard the phrase, “HEAR the Word of the Lord.”

We have heard the phrase “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”

But this scripture asks us to more than HEAR, but to SEE!

You are not just called to hear scripture, YOU NEED TO write it down & memorize it so you can CATCH A VISION OF WHO YOU ARE AND WHO YOU WILL BECOME!

YOUR VISION FOR YOUR LIFE WILL DETERMINE YOUR BEHAVIOR NOW!

If your vision is small, it really doesn’t matter what you do now. It doesn’t really matter who you hang out with, where you go, what you say, what you do… If you don’t have a vision for your life, you life doesn’t really matter anyways.

But if you just catch a glimpse of the vision that God has for your life. If you just catch a small sliver of what God wants to do with your life, you will be floored and amazed and YOU WILL DESIRE TO CHANGE IN ORDER TO ACCOMPLISH THAT PURPOSE!

What will keep you from sinning will NOT BE religious rules!
What will keep you from sinning is VISION!!!

I’m not gonna sin because I have a vision. Cause I know what I’m gonna be and what God calls me to be!!

When you catch that vision from God. When you understand the greatness that He is calling you to do and you get that scripture it’s not just words on a page! It’s not just a memorization thing! It’s not just a read my Bible thing:
THIS IS SCRIPTURE ON STEROIDS!
THIS IS LIGHT SPEED SCRIPTURE!
THIS IS GOD’S WORD THAT IS POWER PACKED AND CHANGES MY LIFE!

There is a difference between just reading the Word and when God hits you with VISION! When something pops out!

God says, “You show me that you’re committed to this! You promise me that you will follow what I want you to do and I’ll show you.”

HOW TO MAKE SURE YOU CATCH YOUR VISION:

1) Keep Yourself Morally – (you never know who you will be.) –

If you mess up now, you could very well completely mess up plan A and you are now having to get on plan B. It’s not saying God can’t use you. But He can’t use you in the full capacity that He wanted to.

Let’s say you are called to be a Pastor, a politician, a lawyer, an evangelist: someone of high influence. Well, you need to keep yourself morally so you can be that person of influence!

I know what you are thinking, I used to think “Well, if I give up my will and just serve God I know He’s gonna make me marry someone ugly and make me minister in like Ubekistan or something like that and it’s gonna be horrible!”

I can tell you right now, that is not the case!

MY WIFE IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! MY WIFE IS SEXY AND LOVING AND A DISCIPLE OF CHRIST!

But you know what? I would have never met her if I didn’t decide early to follow the will of God regardless of what I think. I met her when I received the call of God to be a youth pastor!

2) Love people – (you never know who your friends will be.) –

You should be the kind of friend you want to have. Be that!

I 100% believe in divine connections – friendships that have been set up by God Himself!

But God will not force a friendship. He will set up how you meet, He will put the person in your path… but if you do not have the mindset to love on people you may very well miss the opportunity to make that divine connection.

3) Stay Under Authority – (you never know when you’re going to need it.)

Not only am I talking about needing to follow the rules of authority, but to HAVE authority!

Anyone remember the story of the Roman Centurion with the great faith?
This Roman guy came to Jesus on the road and said “My servant is sick, please heal him!”
Jesus says “Okay, I’ll go to your house and heal him.”
He says “Oh, you don’t need to go to my house, I understand authority. If you say it, it gets done. If I tell this guy go here, he goes there. So just speak the word.”
Jesus says, “I haven’t seen this faith in the Jews or even my disciples!”

JESUS WAS HIS AUTHORITY! Jesus was not only someone to believe in, but someone to follow!

Staying under and respecting authority like the centurion did to Jesus is essential to your future!

God has placed authority in your life to submit to, to follow, in order to help steer you the direction you are called to go. When you make a decision to submit to authority, you protect yourself from mess.

God has a vision for your life! Catch it, and do something with it!

You WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

When you step up and accept your call and accept the vision that God is placing inside of you YOU CAN CHANGE THE WORLD AROUND YOU!
